We recommend at least 2 nights — for genuine deceleration and lower room rates. One night is possible, but after 9 minutes on the cable car going up, the feeling sets in: wish I’d stayed longer.

To the valley station in Flüelen yes — parking CHF 8/day. The Eggberge are car-free. From the valley station you can only continue by cable car — 9 minutes, every 30 minutes.

All guests eat together at long tables. The food comes in bowls — shared, communal. Those who prefer to sit alone are respected. But this is usually where the best conversations of the stay happen.
Yes — 14 single rooms are available. Tavolata as a natural opportunity to meet people, library and lounge as a retreat. Solo travellers are not merely tolerated here — they are welcome.
